Perbasi is responsible for preparing, developing and managing the Indonesian basketball national teams to compete in international competitions and tournaments representing the Republic of Indonesia.
Perbasi manages the Indonesian basketball national teams through Badan Tim Nasional (National Team Board or BTN). Currently BTN is headed by Syailendra S. Bakrie, assisted by Andiko Ardi Purnomo and Sofie Emilia.
